Gocek (previously known as Kalinche) is situated closer to the international airport of Dalaman than Fethiye and Calis; being approximately 22 kilometers distant
The picturesque marina town, set at the northwest end of the Gulf of Fethiye, with the pine-clad Mendos mountains as a backdrop looks outwards towards the famous Twelve Islands; it’s natural harbour lures the international yachting community while entertaining the traditional gullet cruises

In 1988 the region was declared as an environmentally protected area, from which time the natural beauty of the area has been jealously guarded and cared for by the municipality Newly proposed structures and buildings are approved only after strict controls are enforced
Gocek, for a town that is so unspoiled boasts an impressive range of mixed social and community facilities, with a minimum of small hotels and pensions supported by quayside cafes and high quality restaurant
Within the old town behind the marina, there are numerous craft shops displaying their wares.

In addition to mooring at the Gocek wharf, belonging to the local municipality (belediseyi), yaughts can anchor at the Skopea Marina or the Club Marina which is situated in the beautiful Büngüs Cove
Sailing trips from the Gocek marina will take you to the nearby beaches and coves; these visits will allow you to witness the unspoiled (and little visited) coves of: Atbükü, Boynuz, Bükü, Bedri Rahmi, Siralibük, Sarsala, Manastir, Göbün along with the tranquil islands of Göcek, Yassicalar, Tersane and Domuz
The weekly Sunday market, while nowhere near the size of it’s counterparts in Calis and Fethiye does serve a purpose by offering genuine local produce to be purchased and savoured
Gocek has recently became renowned as a rendezvous for yachtsmen from all over the world and is locally noted as ‘up-market’, this said, it by no means loses any of the traditional Turkish hospitality, warmth and friendliness that abounds these Turkish shores
